Evaluation Question 6; What Have You Learnt About Technologies From The Process of Constructing This Product?

If there is one think Ive learnt from taking Media AS and creating this magazine is that I'm terrible with computers! However i feel Ive gained a lot more knowledge and technique throughout the process and development of this course.
Before i began producing this magazine i had never attempted to use such opportunities as Photoshop and Indesign. Now i think i could be given a task and be able to produce a product within a set time. Ive become a lot more confident and artist. Also i have become used to the norm of convergence between internet links too.

Evaluation Question 5; How Did You Attract/ Address Your Audience?

I think it is the layout and appearance of the magazine that brings a certain type of audience to buy the magazine in the first place. You can target a particular age range however the hope for your magazine is to appeal to all the general public in some way.

The colours i used of the green's reds and blacks connoted the nature and purity of the magazine content and the style of music. Folk represents a talent of acoustic work without having the new technologies recording and playing with your original music.

I attracted my audience by portraying and advertising a fresh new artist on the front cover, with a catchy sub heading under her name to entice the reader. I also used a funky, young mast head font to fill the magazine and dominate the page showing how proud the company are to be 'Adapt' and how the reader should buy it.
I also used many connotations of glamour magazines to appeal to the female readers and factual content to appeal to the men.

Evaluation Question 4; Who Would Be The Audience For Your Media Product?

To answer Question 4; i chose to interview various age ranges to grasp their own opinion on the magazine and therefore produce an overall conclusuion of who liked the magazine the most accordring to their age.

My determined original target age range i wanted was to be 17-25 rather than targeting the older generation as most folk magazines seem to do.

The Questions i asked to gather information were;

1. Do you like my magazine?
2. Does the artist on the front cover appeal to you?
3. What would you critisize about my magazine?
4. Would you say £2 is a suitable price?
5. Would you buy this magazine and reccomend it to friends?
6. What age range would you say the magazine is targeted at?
7. What is Your Age?

Evaluation Question 3; What Kind Of Media Institution Might Distribute Your media Product And Why?

Evaluation Question 2; How Does Your Media Product Represent Particlar Social Groups?

This is the glamour magazine front cover i took inspiration from to creat my folk magazine more younger and trrendy. i thought if i included relevant issues used it could seem appealing to a more advance audience on a shop shelf and the vibrant colours catch your eye. I took the price circle to add a splash of the colour green on my front cover. Also the look is interesting and challenging with the tilt of the head yet i wanted to keep my magazine slightly more simplistic like the music and 'froots'.

When researching into who the target audience was for the magazine 'froots' it showed that the older generation preffereed folk music. 40+. This i did not want to do for my magazine as my target audience would be  16-30years. Many many would be more into reading folk magazines therefore i wanted to appeal to the female sex too. i would do this by including aspects of young womens magazines by applying a certain layout to my front cover and the look of which the model is projecting to the reader. A challenging, competitive look supporting female dominance and power.

Instead of a gossip content within the magazine i wanted to make it more factual including '100 questions with mumford and sons' and 'Easter starter songs on guitar'.

Evaluation Question 1; In What Ways Does Your Media Product Use, Develop Or Challenge Forms And conventions Of Real Media Products?

I decided for my title to use a spider diagram to create many words spiraling from each creating lots of words i could choose from. I asked many of my peer groups to state the first word that came into their head when i said a certain word such as 'folk' or 'acoustic'. I finally came to the desicion to you use the Title 'Adapt' as it seemed most suited to my magazine as it sounds young and modern, yet is unommon and could relate to my model in a way of her religious background and having to 'adapt' to the culture around her.
